Is Mickey Rourke really not going to wrestle Y2J?
Q. I just saw on yahoo.ca that Mickey Rourke won't wrestle Y2J at WM. Is this another why to hype up the match or is this 100% true?
Asked by Khaled Khan - Thu Jan 29 11:32:40 2009 - Wrestling - 7 Answers - Comments

A. He says no now but i think a storyline will build it up and they will wrestle. It maybe be Randy the Ram Robinson instead of Rourke.

Will this feud with Mickey Rourke turn Chris Jericho into a face?
Q. Or will he still be a sarcastic heel wrestler? What do you think wrestling fans?
Asked by Brandon - Wed Jan 28 14:53:26 2009 - Wrestling - 10 Answers - Comments

A. I read that Mickie Rourke won't be wrestling Chris Jericho at WM 25 after all.Instead it looks like he's just appearing at the ppv to show his support for the competing wrestlers.Chris Jericho will likely continue to work his heel persona as he tries to build up momentum for a possible spot in the Money In The Bank match and a future shot at John Cena's WHC title.

Is Commander Rourke the best fighter in the world?
Q. Cause he taught hand to hand combat before the Atlantis expedition. And he killed someone in one punch.
Asked by Jojo - Sun Dec 28 22:06:32 2008 - Martial Arts - 3 Answers - Comments

A. Well he IS a fictional cartoon and not a real living human being, so commander Rourke is as good as his drawer wants him to be. If he can kill someone in on punch wow I wouldn't want to be facing him in hand to hand combat, but keep in mind even the strongest man will cripple from a well executed strike to the throat or pressure point. And if that doesn't work theres always guns and swords. (theres no such thing as dirty fighting when it comes to saving your life)

When did Mickey Rourke start having plastic surgery?
Q. He looked great in Angel Heart and Year of the dragon, then this freak appeared from nowhere and old Mickey was gone forever.
Asked by oclugg - Tue Aug 5 06:45:41 2008 - Movies - 1 Answers - Comments

A. The plastic surgery started in the early nineties (I think). He messed his jaw up so much boxing that he had to have it fixed and someone suggested plastic surgery to fix what he felt was wrong and it went from there. It's a shame, but for true Mickey fans, I don't think any of us give it a thought, he's still Mickey and always will be. He's an awesome actor. People don't take him seriously enough. He's really good at what he does.

Is it sick the way they have attacked mel gibson and made micky rourke crawl and beg?
Q. I mean those like sean penn (who took a fake irish name to deceive movie fans). hollywood's sick culture should be boycotted forever.
Asked by NYC Sewers - Wed Mar 4 13:06:10 2009 - Movies - 3 Answers - Comments

A. I've grown very sick of Hollywood and the majority of pinhead in it. Sean Penn is one of them, after getting his award he condemns people that voted for Prop 8 and almost in the same breath praised Obama. Who has openly said is he's against gay marriage, but for civil unions. My disgust with Hollywood and it's hypocrisy goes further than that, they condemn the rich CEOs while it's ok for loud mouth celebrities to make millions. I've already boycotted Hollywood, I refuse to support Obama's socialist friends. Let them rot and download a bootleg movie if you have to, just don't give these millionaires that have forgotten that we made them that rich any more money. It's time for a movie goers revolt.

A. I didn't know they disliked each other, but I'd say it would be because De Niro respects his craft, and Rourke doesn't give a rats ass

What are some great Mickey Rourke films?
Q. I saw The Wrestler, and it was awesome!! What are some other of his great films. I looked him up on IMDB, and most of the films he has been in have so-so ratings.
Asked by sugarpie2 - Wed Jan 28 10:07:27 2009 - Movies - 5 Answers - Comments

A. People have already mentioned Angel Heart and Sin City. Check out Barfly and Spun! Barfly was written by Charles Bukowski and is a great movie about an alcoholic writer. In Spun, Rourke plays the role of a methamphatamine cook. Both of these movies are excellent although harrowing depictions of chemical dependence. Mickey Rourke is fantastic in both of these dark yet occasionally humorous films.

Who do you think should have won the Oscar, Mickey Rourke or Sean Penn?
Q. I know Sean Penn won I watched it happen live. I agree that Sean Penn gave the better performance even though they were both great. Who do you think was better? Do you think Mickey Rourke should have one because of the amazing comeback he made? I saw The Wrestler in March and again last night. I saw Milk last week.
Asked by Josh - Tue Jun 23 20:41:36 2009 - Movies - 3 Answers - Comments

A. Hands down, it should have gone to Mickey Rourke. Milk was too long and didn't tell enough about his life outside of politics. There is a formula in Hollywood that usually gets you an Oscar, and Milk had all of it. A gay character that dies a tragic death (Philadelphia had Tom Hanks). Mickeys comeback has been great, but his character was more tragic than Milk. His character was destined to lose at every turn through no fault but his own. The preparation for his role was much harhder too, i'm sure. Also, a true story like Milk is trickier to make likable when you know the outcmome.

Mickey rourke as whiplash in new iron man?
Q. This is apparently true. Now of what pictures i've seen of whiplash he looks like a lame villain for the movie. It just a guy with a wipe, how is that going to stand up to ironman. Even if the wipe has super powers of something, still it seems out of place. What does everyone else think, and are there better pictures of this character?
Asked by Bill - Thu Mar 12 19:13:06 2009 - Movies - 3 Answers - Comments

A. Whiplash isn't the villian I would have chosen either. Mickey Rourke as a villian is not my first choice. I think he is overrated. Iron man's problem has always been that he really doesn't have any good villians in my opinion. I really like the character but I hate his foes. I would really like to see Hulk knock Ironman around for a few minutes. Hulk and Ironman taking out a small city or mountain range would be icing on the cake.

Who thinks Mickey Rourke was robbed of the Oscar for his performance in "The Wrestler"?
Q. I just saw this movie earlier tonight and I must say he did a very impressive job. I also saw Milk and, while I'll acknowledge it was a good movie and that Sean Penn is a brilliant, versatile actor, I think Mr. Rourke did the better job. (I think both movies are collector's items, BTW.)
Asked by Diane - Fri Apr 24 05:24:32 2009 - Movies - 4 Answers - Comments

A. I just saw the Wrestler too. I saw Milk when it came out on DVD as well. I agree with you 100%. Mickey Rourke was amazing. He totally deserved that Oscar. I had no idea he was so amazing in that movie. While Sean Penn is definitely a great actor too, I don't think he showed the same versatility as Rourke. I understand that he was playing a gay man and that in itself is versatile, but I couldn't connect with his character like I connected with Rourke's. I didn't feel the same compassion I felt for "The Ram." And I know this may sound crazy, but I would much rather have heard Mickey Rourke's acceptance speech as opposed to Sean Penn's. He needs to keep his political views out of Hollywood. Just because he played a politician doesn't [cont.]

Why would Mikey Rourke become a boxer and disfigure his good looks?
Q.
Asked by Member Services - Tue Feb 10 03:34:46 2009 - Celebrities - 2 Answers - Comments

A. Mickey Rourke played a part in a movie. He is not a boxer. He doesn't even play one well in a movie. His disfigured looks comes from his many Botox, eye lifts, collagen injections, and whatever the heck else he did to his appearance with plastic surgery. He actually was quite cool and somewhat sexy when I was younger, but I am old now and so is he. Women do it all the time, some with good results, some with mediocre results and many with hideous and ugly results. He has been trying to buy his youth in a doctor's office chair and he should have perhaps saved his money and saw a psychiatrist! I have the exact same horror and sadness about Axl Rose, the former lead singer of Guns & Roses. He was something in his day, but plastic surgery… [cont.]

A. Just in case, you should put up a spoiler warning for those who haven't seen it know not to continue. Spoiler Warning: Do not continue if you haven't seen The Wrestler. As you know, this was due to the director making us choose what happens. Here's what I think about it, I think that it's possible he could have died after executing the finisher move. Remember when he looked back to see if she was there? When she wasn't there when he looked, he knew there was no point of turning back anymore and that he will continue to do what is his life, which is wrestle. If he didn't die after that, then eventually he would have died since he said he will keep wrestling as the fans keep going (or said something similar). He knew the connection with his… [cont.]
